Efficacy of Black Tea for Health

Drinking black tea may help protect against type 2 diabetes risk. This fact is obtained based on the analysis of research on the 50 states, where the state who drank black tea had the lowest incidence rate of diabetes. These countries include South Korea, Brazil and China. While countries with type 2 diabetes rates are high among them, Britain, Turkey and Ireland.

This fact is little relief given the incidence of type 2 diabetes has skyrocketed worldwide in recent decades. Even scientists projected, by 2030 there will be over 900 million people suffer from diabetes or associated with the risk of diabetes worldwide.

A researcher from the Data Mining International, Geneva, Switzerland, Ariel Beresniak, MD, PhD, said that if the studies showed consistent relationship between drinking black tea and the risk of type 2 diabetes. Unfortunately, it has not been proven if these two facts have a causal relationship. "The black might protect from diabetes, but more research is needed to prove it," said Ariel. Ariel also suggested that further research should also find consistent and linked by previous studies.

Role of Green Tea and White Tea

The study also had links between green tea and white tea in a reduced risk of diabetes. Back again unfortunate, Ariel and his colleagues have not been able to find this relationship.

There may be a link between the processes of black tea is increasingly concentrated fermented longer than green tea and white. The fermentation process is changing the simple flavonoid compounds (flavonoids simple) called catechins (green tea are widely conceived), a complex compound theaflavin and thearubigins.

Ariel said, if black tea is proven to reduce the risk of diabetes in future research, it can be said fermentation is the explanation.

A diabetes specialist from Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, Spyros Mezitis, MD, said, "There is no harm in drinking tea, although there is no compelling reason that recommends patients with diabetes or those at risk of diabetes, for tea."

He gave some tips to support healthy living efforts to reduce the risk of diabetes.

· Limit eating foods that contain refined sugar and refined white flour.

· Add the consumption of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy products on the menu everyday.

· Aerobic exercise at least 30 minutes each time, 3 times a week.
